Methodist Publishing House announces Visual Liturgy plans

Free VL3 upgrade to be followed by VL4 in late 2003

Methodist Publishing House has announced an exciting series of developments for the future of Methodist Worship Book for Visual Liturgy.

Methodist users will be treated to two new versions of the software in 2003. A free upgrade to version 3.0 will be followed by a full-blown Methodist Worship Book for Visual Liturgy 4.0 in late 2003.

The original Methodist Worship Book for Visual Liturgy was based on version 2.0 of the Visual Liturgy engine. The free upgrade to version 3.0 will provide users with helpful new features such as the Lectionary Report and the ability to group items together within service templates. The upgrade will be made available via this web site as a free download early in 2003. In addition, a Methodist Worship Book for Visual Liturgy 3.0 manual will be available to buy from Methodist Publishing House.

Methodist Publishing House has also announced a further partnership with Church House Publishing to produce a version of Visual Liturgy 4.0 for the Methodist Worship Book. Scheduled for release towards the end of 2003, the new software will provide Methodist users with all the functionality of Visual Liturgy 4.0, as well as new content in the form of the prayers in volumes one to four in the Epworth Companion to the Revised Common Lectionary series. Chris Pursehouse, Head of Marketing, for Methodist Publishing House, said:

"We are delighted with the sales of Visual Liturgy and are committed to working with Church House Publishing to develop this exciting worship resource."

Registered users and those signed up to the announcement email list will be kept informed as further news becomes available.
