Biographical companion to Common Worship includes VL CD
Church House Publishing have announced the publication of Saints
on Earth, a new book with an exciting link-up for users of Visual
Liturgy 4.0 for Common Worship.
The book provides detailed information about the people commemorated
in the Common Worship calendar of Holy Days.
The wide-ranging selection of spiritually significant men and women features
Celtic and Catholic saints, Reformers, Tractarians, bishops and missionaries
together with poets, writers, martyrs, social reformers, kings and queens.
Recent heroes and heroines of faith, both Anglican and from other Christian
traditions, are celebrated alongside those who inspired the Early Church.
Visual Liturgy link-up
The book comes with a free CD-ROM in the back that includes a module
that is compatible with Visual Liturgy 4.0 for Common Worship.
The module makes four minor changes to the software and includes the material
from the book to provide the biographies from Saints on Earth
within VL.
 On
the Welcome Screen and on the Overview screen when you are planning a
service, the reference to the Saint who is being celebrated becomes clickable.
Clicking the link provides the biography in a new window from which you
can copy and paste. Click the image to the right to see a large image
example of how it will work.
In addition, the Calendar facility in Visual Liturgy will include
a new menu option from the context menu that can be accessed by right
clicking on a Calendar event. Lastly, an extra tab will be added to the
Visual Liturgy Agent to provide the biographical material as
part of the quick look-up tool.
