Tuesday Tip: How to register Visual Liturgy Live

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

Today’s tip is for those trying to register their copy of Visual Liturgy Live.

The best way to do this is by filling in the form in Visual Liturgy Live and registering over the internet. The form will normally pop up each time VLL is loaded if you are un-registered but you can access the registration form through the file menu in Visual Liturgy itself.

Please make sure:

  1. You are filling in your Visual Liturgy Live serial number into the allocated field. The serial number can be found on the label attached to the CD envelope in the Visual Liturgy box and always begins VL50CW… Please do not enter your serial number for Visual Liturgy 4 as this will not be successful.
  2. You are not filling in the key number field at the bottom of the screen. This will get filled in once the form has been submitted and registration has been successful.
  3. Your password meets the guidelines for security; it should contain between 6 and 12 characters including at least one upper-case character, and one number.
  4. You are registered before you try to set your team licence as you need your log in name and password to be able to log into the Visual Liturgy Live website. To find out how to upgrade to a team licence please read the previous blog entry ‘Setting up your team licences’.

Tuesday Tip: What to sing and when I

Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

We are pleased to welcome Peter Moger, National Worship Development Officer for the Church of England as a contributor to this blog. Peter is playing an increasing role in Visual Liturgy and we hope that his participation in the Tuesday tips will help us move beyond the nuts and bolts of the software into the reasons we are all using Visual Liturgy anyway – worship. This week, Peter presents part one of a two part series on selecting hymns:

Getting liturgical help

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

One of the things that I am working on at the present time is getting all the notes and commentary material from Common Worship books that are new to Visual Liturgy into the Visual Liturgy help files. Since all that information is on my mind, today’s Tuesday tip is all about getting help.

But there are a few useful things to know about the Calendar in order to get more out of your Visual Liturgy program.

Tuesday tip: The end of Windows 98?

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

You may or may not have heard that Microsoft are issuing a large security update for Windows today. It seems to be quite a significant one – even the BBC website has covered the story.

Certainly if you allow Windows to automatically update itself (and you really should make sure you get the benefit of these fixes), it may already have started whirring away and doing its thing.

Tuesday tip: Setting items as default

Tuesday, June 6th, 2006

The tip for this week is all about how to set an item as a default. What this means is that if you use particular versions of texts all the time, you can tell Visual Liturgy to automatically use those versions so that you don’t have to keep changing them each time you start a new service.

Tuesday tip: The Browser part 2

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

Last week, we talked about how the Browser can be used with services to choose different options and build your worship step-by-step. This week, we thought we’d show you a little more about the Browser and how you can both use it on its own and some useful tips for searching.

Tuesday tip: The Browser, part 1

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

Today’s top tip is all about getting the most out of the Browser in Visual Liturgy. For those of you that have been on one of our Visual Liturgy training days, you will know just how much importance we put on the Browser feature by making it the first thing we talk about.
