About my church

This demonstration is taken from Visual Liturgy 4.0 for Common Worship. The newly designed Service overview and the Services planner both take Visual Liturgy users into new territory by providing the opportunity to allocate responsibilities to specific church members, as well as specify locations and times for services.

Adding such administrative power to the software means that it is important to give users an easy way to customize the details of church members and their roles, as well as locations and service times. This is exactly what About my church provides.

The About my church option is found under the Edit menu alongside old Visual Liturgy favourites like the Edit > Preferences dialogue . Once accessed, About my church allows users to view several categories of lists that are available for customization. For team ministry situations, the ability to add multiple locations and service times means that the Services planner becomes extremely powerful.

Meanwhile, all users will be able to take advantage of the facilities to add names of church members who fulfil various service roles, delete the names of people who are no longer involved in the church, or mark members as temporarily inactive.

Users can also customize lists of Service roles (e.g. Minister, Reader) and Global service properties (e.g. Sound desk, Organist, Flowers).
