Frequently asked questions

I'm moving - do I or my Church get my VL licence?

A full version of Visual Liturgy is always licenced to a particular machine rather than a particular person. If you are moving house or leaving a particular church, it is up to you and the church to work out who gets to keep the copy of the software.

The complications come if you also have Additional User Licences associated with your full version. Additional User Licences are only valid if they are associated with a full version in the same church (including daughter churches) and so one of two things must happen:

  1. You leave your full version behind so that the church keeps the existing full version and valid Additional User Licences. If you wanted your own copy of Visual Liturgy, you would then need to buy a new full version.
  2. You take your full version with you and the church buys a new full version to link to its existing Additional User Licences.

Whichever route you and the church decide upon, please ensure that you and/or the church inform Church House Publishing so that your registration details can be kept up-to-date and additional licences properly linked.

Church House Publishing generally recommend that it is best to licence to the parish, rather than to the person, to avoid any confusion or problems at a later date should a user move away.
