Frequently asked questions

Why isn't there Visual Liturgy for Apple Macintosh?

The history of Visual Liturgy in relation to Apple Macintosh is a little complicated. When Visual Liturgy was first released, producing a version for the Mac operating system would have meant recoding the entire product. Unfortunately, at the time, there were not enough Mac users to make a Mac version commercially viable.

Conscious of the continuing interest from Mac users, Church House Publishing has conducted a series of surveys over the last four years to keep a watchful eye on the potential market. Sadly, the latest survey in the summer of 2002 confirmed that there there are still too few Mac users to make a Mac version possible.

Some users have had success using Windows® emulation software with Macintosh computers to use Visual Liturgy. If you are a Mac user, that may be an option you wish to consider.

For the next version of Visual Liturgy, the software code is being radically revised in order to make an Internet version of the software a possibility. Should an Internet version be released, it would deal with all the compatibility issues for Mac users and enable them to use Visual Liturgy.

It should be noted, however, that while Visual Liturgy 4.0 for Common Worship is released on CD-ROM, no definite launch plans for an Internet version have yet been made.
