Frequently asked questions

How can I get Bible readings into a block text format?

Many users have asked for Bible readings to display in a block text format.

In order to change to a block text format, follow these instructions.

  1. Open the Service template that you wish to use.
  2. Right click on the reading you wish to change to block text format and choose Item properties...
  3. From the dialogue box that pops up, choose the appropriate tab for whichever View of the service you are working in - for example, the Detail view.
  4. Choose the Service text sub-category.
  5. Tick the box labelled As block text.
  6. Click OK.
  7. You should now find that your display has updated to turn the reading into block text format.
  8. Don't forget to choose File then Save Template so that your changes are preserved for the next time you use the service template.

At the current time, it is not possible to select which breaks to preserve and which to keep. However, it is much easier to add one or two paragraph breaks back into the text (either in Visual Liturgy or a word processing software package), than to remove all the paragraph breaks as you needed to do previously.
