User supportFrequently asked questionsWeekday lectionary provision and Common Worship: Daily PrayerWhy isn't the weekday lectionary in Visual Liturgy 4.0?Lectionary information is included within Visual Liturgy 4.0 for Principal Feasts, Principal Holy Days, and Sundays. You should be able to access the Collect, Principal Service readings and so on for these days, up to 2010, according to the provisions of the Common Worship lectionary. While the weekday lectionary has been published annually in book form, it is not yet available in Visual Liturgy format. So what's the "Weekdays" button in the Lectionary planner for then?Visual Liturgy includes the technical capacity to import the weekday lectionary readings, when they are made available. This is why the Weekdays button appears in the Lectionary planner. In the very near future a module will be produced to provide the annual lectionary information for 2003-2004. Why isn't Common Worship: Daily Prayer in Visual Liturgy 4.0?Common Worship: Daily Prayer was published in January 2002 but as yet it is not available for Visual Liturgy. There are two main reasons why Common Worship: Daily Prayer will not be available as a Visual Liturgy module in the near future. The material has been published as a preliminary edition to enable people to "road test" the liturgy. It will then come back for further revision before it is published again as "final". The Liturgical Commission took the decision that they did not want to make something available for Visual Liturgy 4.0 which was not yet finished and final. As a result, it will be held back until the final version of Common Worship: Daily Prayer is published. Will Common Worship: Daily Prayer be made available within Visual Liturgy in future?Yes. While no definite time scale has yet been decided, the intention is that all of the Common Worship material will be made available in Visual Liturgy. Common Worship: Daily Prayer's inclusion will obviously be dependent on the publication of the final edition of the book, but it is hoped that either a new version of Visual Liturgy or an add-on module will be released at that time to provide the material for Visual Liturgy.
