Frequently asked questions
Why do I have to log on to Windows® XP since Visual Liturgy 4.0 for
Common Worship was installed?
When Visual Liturgy 4.0 for Common Worship is installed onto
your machine, it checks to see whether you have Microsoft® .NET installed.
If it isn't already installed on your machine, the installation routine
adds it to your machine. Microsoft® .NET is a crucial system component
that allows VL4 to run.
What Microsoft® .NET does is normal and quite harmless and is needed
initially to make VL work. As it is installing, it has to create an extra
user - ASP.NET Machine Account. The addition of the extra 'user' resets
your Microsoft® Windows log-on, forcing you to log in the next time
you use your machine.
You can restore your machine to the way it was reasonably simply so that
the log-on screen does not appear.
- Click on START and then RUN
- In the command line, type in the following command:
control userpasswords2
- When the user accounts window opens, uncheck the box which states
'Users must enter a username and password to use this computer' and
click APPLY.
- You will be requested for the username and password of the account
you wish to automatically logon on following reboots of your system.
- If at a later stage you want a password back on your system, follow
the same steps but recheck the box.
- In order to open user accounts you must be using an Administrator
level account
