Linking to SongSelect
SongSelect
is a stand-alone product from Christian Copyright Licensing International
that provides the lyrics of modern worship songs and hymns. SongSelect
can be hooked up to Visual Liturgy in order to import these songs words
into service sheets created using Visual Liturgy.
Follow the instructions below to establish a link between the two pieces
of software.
- Open up SongSelect, cancel the initial welcome screen
and click on SongSelect in the Menu bar.
- Click on Register. Make a note of the SongSelect
licence number; you will need it later on.
- Close the registration details screen and click on Edit
in the menu bar and then Preferences.
- Choose the SongSelect tab. Check that the location
of the SongSelect executable is correct. Usually it will say either
"c:\program files\SongSelectUK" or "c:\progra~1\songse~1".
If you changed the location of SongSelect when it installed, you may
need to point the software in the right direction.
- Check that the Enable SongSelect check box is ticked.
- Click OK and then close down SongSelect.
- Secondly, open up Visual Liturgy and click on Edit
in the menu bar and then Preferences.
- Choose the SongSelect folder.
- Check the tickbox for Enable Visual Liturgy link to SongSelect.
- Click Browse to locate the SongSelect program. It
can be usually be found at "c:\program files\SongSelectUK\songsel.exe".
- In the CCL Number field, type in the number you noted
down in step two (see above).
- Click OK to close the Preferences dialog.
- To check that it has worked, click on the Browser
icon in the toolbar and type in "ss.Kendrick" and click GO.
- Using the "ss." prefix ensures that Visual Liturgy only
searches the SongSelect database (Visual Liturgy 4.0 only).
- If it works, you should find that it provides you with lots of songs
by Graham Kendrick. If you click on one of the songs, the lyrics should
appear in the preview pane.
